Booper Legal Trustee Services
Our law firm provides streamlined trust services for pet trusts established through Cotl.
Give your pets the love and care they deserve, even if the unexpected happens to you.
As a licensed North Carolina law firm, we manage all the trust funds for all Cotl clients in accordance with state law and NC State Bar rules and regulations.
Why the name “Booper Legal”?
Our firm’s official name is Valle Legal, PLLC. But in connection with our pet trustee services, we do business as Booper Legal. That might sound like a silly name for a law firm, but “Booper” is the nickname of our founding attorney’s dog, Domino. Domino is perhaps the friendliest dog on earth—the perfect namesake for services dedicated to helping all pets.

How does Cotl work?
Outline how caretakers should care for your pet
You decide how caretakers should use your money to care for your pet if you’re ever sick, injured, pass away, or otherwise can’t care for your pet.
Save for your pet’s ongoing care
Booper Legal holds funds you set aside under your Cotl Plan is our capacity as a law firm trustee. Your funds are held in an interest-bearing account at Towne Bank.
We provide third-party accountability
Caretakers go to Cotl to get reimbursed for approved pet-related expenses. We work with Cotl to approve expenses and ensure your money is used the way you want it to be.
Your money is safe, secure, and used only for your pet
Your money is kept in a separate bank account at TowneBank.
We never mix your money with operational accounts for our firm or Cotl.
Caretakers only receive money that is used on pet expenses that you’ve agreed to.
